But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins - he said to the man who was paralyzed - I say to you, rise, pick up your stretcher, and go home.

Meditio: What is God saying to you through the text?
Mercy and forgiveness. Many of us have or experience these. I think the most difficult thing is to forgive, but when we are finally able to forgive, the soul is liberated and can more freely enjoy life. God has given us these gifts and in his name, we must act. How merciful am I? How do I act in forgiving and being forgiven?

Oratio: What do I say to God?
My Lord, mercy and forgiveness are the way that you have taught us to liberate the soul. It is the way that helps us to live better, to live as you want us to, loving, giving, serving, and giving the best of my heart. Many times, our humanity binds us, limits us, and puts up obstacles that harden our heart, paralyze the ardor of our love and we live with this stone that drag every day. I ask you, Lord, to help us to be free of this rock, of our hardness and to light your flame, your mercy, and your love within us.
