Wednesday after Epiphany

“Take courage, it is I, do not be afraid”

The Gospel according to Mark 6:45-52

Lectio: What does the text say?

Then he saw that they were tossed about while rowing, for the wind was against them. About the fourth watch of the night, he came toward them walking on the sea. He meant to pass by them.
But at once he spoke with them, “Take courage, it is I, do not be afraid!”
He got into the boat with them and the wind died down. They were completely astounded. They had not understood the incident of the loaves. On the contrary, their hearts were hardened.

Meditation: What does God say to you in the text?

Many times when we have something against us, something that is not resolved, we feel like that the Lord is passing before us and doesn’t help us, doesn’t see our need. And that’s what happened with the Apostles, that after we see him that he blesses or works miracles in our life and the lives of others, and amidst so much insecurity, storms, we forget, we abandon the teachings and faith in the Lord. When any type of problem comes up, what is my attitude like? Do I remember the teachings and the faith that he has given me and face the problems, or do I desperately search? Do I ask him peacefully and with great faith to illuminate my life, to guide me, to give me patience and wisdom to move forward?

There will always be storms that I need to surpass. My Lord, help me to remember all that you teach me to have faith. Illuminate my life, guide me, give me wisdom and strength. Accompany so that I might not fear and move forward and remain at peace with myself. Don’t abandon me. After the message of this text, what is your personal prayer‍? Include your personal intentions.
