Great crowds came to him, having with them the lame, the blind, the deformed, the mute, and many others. They placed them at his feet, and he cured them.
He ordered the crowd to sit down on the ground.Then he took the seven loaves and the fish, gave thanks, broke the loaves, and gave them to the disciples, who in turn gave them to the crowds.

Meditation, What does God tell us in the text?

Today the text speaks of mercy, charity, being of service to the needy. How often do I care for the sick, not only those in my family or close friends, but people I don’t know. Do I always pray for my illnesses and those of others, so that they they soon heal? Do I thank the Lord for the food He gives me and the joy of sharing it with those in need?
