XXXIV Saturday of Ordinary Time

“Pray constantly”

We call on the Holy Spirit

Holy Spirit fills my heart with joy and peace, and gives me the wisdom to understand the Word of God.
Amen.

The Gospel according to Luke 21, 34-36

Reading, What does the text say?

"Beware that your hearts do not become drowsy from carousing and drunkenness and the anxieties of daily life, and that day catch you by surprise. like a trap. For that day will assault everyone who lives on the face of the earth. Be vigilant at all times and pray that you have the strength to escape the tribulations that are imminent and to stand before the Son of Man.”
Following this text, what are the words, phrases or attitudes that draw your attention and peak your interest?

Meditation, What does God tell us in the text?

Yesterday we spoke about growing closer to the Lord, preparing ourselves and getting to know Him more, which leads us to prayer, the closest, truest, most merciful, profound conversation we can have with God. This is what the text is asking us to do in order to “stand before the Son of Man”. The more we pray, the more we are aware of who me must be and how we must act. Do I pray out of the message the Lord has given me? Do I feel as if I’m standing in front of my best friend, who I can tell anything to without being afraid, when I pray? What is in that prayer? What am I asking and what am I listening? Do I transform that prayer into acts?
Following the message in the text, what is your meditation and personal reflection?

Prayer, What do we say to God?

My Lord, we find so much joy and peace when we speak with you, that our heart and spirit are full. You are the only path that covers all of our happiness, help us to continue to prepare ourselves, to know you and your mercy and love even more, as we wish to be close to you. Make us instruments to spread your message with good attitudes, values and that this prayer be a true Christian act.
Following the message in this text, What is your personal prayer?
Each of us adds their own intentions.
Amen.

Contemplation, How do we interiorise the Word of God?

“Pray constantly“
(We repeat)

Action, What do I promise God?

1. Pray or speak to God helps share our pain or our joy, give thanks, etc. Lets practice this more frequently.
2. Today in our prayer, let us put forth our needs, asking for the Lord to hear us and help us.
Following the message of this text, What is the real action that He is inviting us to do?
