Renew me - Park of Forgiveness

Come in:

The warm and loving welcoming of brothers and sisters, is a act that reminds us the joy of God the Father as He sees his child come home. There will be volunteers assisting with sign language. Here is a step-by-step description of how to get to last stop where a special commitment will be made with God’s creation.

Look back:

The Grotto of Our Lady is a place reserved for self-examination of conscience. In the company and presence of the Mother of God, we may calmly look through our lives, in what we have failed, placing ourselves in the hands of conversion, without forgetting that the Lord has done marvelous things in each of our lives, and that the best is yet to come. We will have audio and visual aids to assist you in this moment.

Enter:

The entrance of the confessional. The volunteering priests and bishops will be there as God’s instruments to bestow mercy with an open heart. The sacrament of reconciliation will be available in the five official languages of WYD, from 9am to 4pm. There will be volunteers to assist people with special needs.

Celebrate and Commit:

The embrace of joy and renewed commitment to the creation of God . Here there will be some souvenirs of your visit and we will ask you to write a promise of something specific that you will do to care for our common house as part of the fruits of your visit to “Renew Me”. There will be volunteers who will help you make your way to the Chapel of Adoration if you wish to visit.

Park 9

This is an interactive space in Youth Park, created so that pilgrims can reflect on the Gospel through the Lectio Divina method of meditating through biblical texts. This place will allow you to use Virtual Reality as a new way to connect through prayer where the Angel Gabriel will be your guide.
The Cristonautas theme park will open on January 19 and 20, 2019 for local residents from 11:00 to 17:00, and will also be open from January 22 to 25 for people who previously registered through the http://parque.cristonautas.com/ website from 12:00 to 22:30.
Young people will also be able to be part of the “Xto Painting” and “Xto Music” contests where they’ll be able to participate with value-oriented religious themes.

Adoration Tent

“Find Me” God Himself wished to CAMP among us

This is a special place for adoration, where pilgrims will be able to kneel at His feet, like Mary, Martha’s sister, who chose the “better part.” It will be a space for tranquility, to listen to His voice, speak to Him, worship Him, sing to Him, rest with Him, pray with Him, thank the Living Christ, present in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar, and kneel before the Holy silence.
The Adoration Tent will be located behind the Vocational Fair and will be a place of Permanent Adoration. It will be open 24/7, even when the park is closed.

“The most August sacrament is the Most Holy Eucharist in which Christ the Lord himself is contained, offered, and received and by which the Church continually lives and grows […] The Christian faithful are to hold the Most Holy Eucharist in highest honor […] worshiping it with the highest adoration”. Let us choose, then among the “many things”, that “necessary” part, the one that will not be taken from us.

The Pilgrim Virgin’s meeting with young people

On February 11, 2018, the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, the Holy Father Pope Francis, was the first pilgrim to register for WYD Panama 2019. That same day Panama received a call from the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima, giving them the preliminary news that the rectory had accepted the presence of the First Pilgrim Image of Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima, Portugal. That is why Panama considers Our Lady to be the Second Pilgrim enrolled in WYD 2019, after the Holy Father.
The first pilgrim image of Our Lady of Fatima that has reached all corners of the world several times will be at WYD. Our Lady only leaves the Sanctuary on very special occasions.

History

  • Spain was the first country visited by the original image in 1948, symbolizing the unity between Spain and Portugal: unity through both countries’ Catholic faiths.
  • This image, created following Sister Lucia’s directions was offered by the Bishop of Leira and solemnly crowned by the Archbishop of Evora, Manuel Mendes on May 13, 1947. Since then the image has travelled all over the world, several times, bringing with her a message of peace and love.
  • With the intention of answering the myriad of requests from across the world, thirteen replicas have been made of Our Lady’s Pilgrim Image, which continue the pilgrim itinerary to the countries that request it.
  • One of the most impactful events that have been reported was the miraculous healing of Father Pio of Pietrelcina, now a saint, in 1959, who was healed of serious pleurisy as the image flew over the monastery of Saint Giovanni Rotondo by helicopter.
