Gospel of the day - Lectio Divina Luke 2, 22-35

BIBLE READING:

What does the text of the day say?

I read, carefully in my Bible, the text that is in Lk 2,22-35.

Reflecting.

After his birth, Jesus was taken by his parents to the temple in order to fulfill the Jewish rite.
T
he Letter to the Hebrews proclaims the Word: "Here I am, O God, to do your will" (Hb 10,9). The Presentation of Jesus in the Temple reveals that He has not come to do things, but to be God in our midst, or rather, "God [is] with us!"
The great theologian Edward Schillebeeckx, deceased on December 23, 2009, points out that "God has revealed himself in Jesus, according to the Christian conception, using the non-divine of his being man ... Jesus has shared with us in the cross of fragility of our world. But this fact means that in his total freedom and before all time, God determines who and how he wants to be in his deepest being, that is, a God of men, partner of alliance in our suffering and in our complexity, and companion of alliance also in what we do good. He is, in his own being, a God for us. "

MEDITATION:

What does the text say to me on this day?
The theologian Schillebeeckx, already mentioned before, still affirms that "Mary is the arm that unites the holy and saving humanity of Christ to our humanity" She has presented Jesus in the Temple and in that place the Savior has been revealed, in the voice of Simeon: "I have already seen with your own eyes your salvation, which you have prepared in the presence of all peoples: a light to teach your I walk to all who are not Jews and to render glory to your people of Israel. " The bishops, at the Aparecida Conference, affirmed: "Jesus is the Son of God, the Word made flesh (cf. Gospel according to John 1, 14), true God and true man, proof of God's love for men" (DAp 102).

SENTENCE:

What does the text motivate me to say to God?

I pray, spontaneously, with the Psalms or other prayers and conclude with the Prayer of Saint Patrick: Christ is with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me, Christ to my right, Christ to my left, Christ when I go to bed, Christ when I sit, Christ when I get up, Christ in the hearts of all who think of me, Christ in the mouth of all who speak in me, Christ in all the eyes that look at me, Christ in all the ears that listen to me.

CONTEMPLATION: What new look do I have from the Word?

My new look is recognition of the salvation that we also "saw with our own eyes". He, Jesus Christ, is the light that illuminates our path.

ACTION:

May I be completely consecrated to the Father by the Spirit so that, like Jesus, my life is totally dedicated to the service of his Kingdom. Blessing - God bless us and keep us. Amen. - He make shine his face on us and look at us with good eyes. Amen. - Turn your face towards us and give us peace. Amen. - Bless us God merciful Father and Son and Holy Spirit. Amen. Lima Priest. A happy New Year for everyone!
