“His heart was moved with pity for them and began to teach them many things”

The Gospel according to Mark 6:34-44

Lectio: What does the text say?

When he disembarked and saw the vast crowd, his heart was moved with pity for them, for they were like sheep without a shepherd; and he began to teach them many things.
Then, taking the five loaves and two fish and looking up to heaven, he said the blessing, broke the loaves, and gave them to [his] disciples to set before the people.

Meditation: What does God say to you in the text?

Yesterday, we spoke of the great light that is Jesus Christ and he showed us part of what it means to be “repentant,” to go out to the Galilee that we all have, to serve and attend, and today he continues teaching us to come close to repentance, not only to pay attention to our physical and psychological needs, but also teaching how to grow intellectually, socially, as a family, as a person, to grow spiritually as we see, asking for our daily bread from God the Father. Do I follow the example and humility of the teacher Jesus Christ and teach and help those who need to grow in whichever aspect of life? Am I interested in allow Jesus Christ to teach me through his Word, through his daily message? Do I teach and give thanks for what God the Father has given us?
After the message of this text, what is your meditation, your personal reflection?

Oration: What do I say to God?

My Lord and teacher, Jesus Christ, I want to follow you, to follow your example, to serve and to teach those who need, and also to learn from you and everyone who teaches me. Thank you for all that you give us, thank you Father God and Holy Spirit because you are with me in my smallness and insignificance, in my needs and my achievements. You never abandon me because I need you at all times.

He invites us to be compassionate and to unite ourselves with those who need us to be their guides and to teach them the best that we can, while being humble and learning from our teacher, Jesus Christ, and those who always teach us.
